Liverpool reportedly want to agree new deals with Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Joe Gomez before the 2022-23 season.

Liverpool are reportedly poised to open contract discussions with four players in the coming weeks.

The Reds have already lost Divock Origi and Loris Karius on free transfers following the expiration of their deals, but Jurgen Klopp's side have been quick to conduct their own business.

Calvin Ramsay's signing from Aberdeen on a five-year deal was confirmed on Sunday morning, with the 18-year-old joining Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho at Anfield.

There have been suggestions that Liverpool could finish their summer business with the signing of Ramsay, as Klopp is prepared to wait until 2023 before pursuing a new midfielder.

As a result, the Reds are instead set to focus on contract talks with some of their established players, and according to The Mirror, a quartet of names will discuss their futures at the club soon.

Defender Joe Gomez has been tipped to leave Anfield this summer following Ramsay and Ibrahima Konate's signings, and Aston Villa have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old.

However, Liverpool are now supposedly hoping to tie Gomez down to fresh terms, with the England international's current deal due to expire in two years' time.

Gomez made just eight Premier League appearances in the 2021-22 season, but the report claims that Liverpool view him as an integral part of the club's future given that Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip have both turned 30.

The Reds are also said to be preparing to sit down with attacker Diogo Jota, whose stellar campaign last term saw him amass 21 goals and eight assists in 54 appearances across all tournaments.

Fifteen of Jota's strikes came in the Premier League, with the Portuguese often filling in for the injured Roberto Firmino at the tip of the attack or featuring out wide.

Jota's deal at Anfield will not run out until the summer of 2025, but Liverpool are said to be keen to tie the 25-year-old down for longer as Sadio Mane prepares to depart.

Midfielder Naby Keita has been facing more of an uncertain future, though, as the Guinea international has just 12 months left to run on his deal with the six-time European champions.

The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries during his time on Merseyside and only started 14 Premier League games last season, but Julian Ward is still keen to tie him down to a longer contract.

Finally, 19-year-old Harvey Elliott could be in line for new-and-improved terms at Liverpool after breaking into the first team in a disrupted 2021-22 season.

The former Fulham starlet was only given 11 outings in all tournaments amid a horrific ankle injury sustained at Leeds United back in September, but he is not due to become a free agent for another four years.
