Frankfurt chief denies Real Madrid deal for Jovic

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic has denied reports that Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign striker Luka Jovic this summer.

Jovic has scored 26 goals in 44 games for Frankfurt this season, with that form putting him on the radar of a number of Europe's biggest clubs ahead of the transfer window.

Liverpool and Manchester City are among the names to have been linked with the 21-year-old, but Madrid are understood to be leading the race and recent reports had suggested that they have already agreed a £51m deal.

However, Bobic has rubbished the speculation and insists that he has not even been in contact with Madrid, yet alone finalised terms over a transfer.

"There has been no contact with Real Madrid. For once, I don't have to use a white lie, they really haven't been in touch yet. I know them very well," he told ESPN.

Frankfurt signed Jovic on a permanent deal from Benfica last month, exercising an option from their initial two-year loan agreement with the Portuguese outfit.
