Crystal Palace climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone thanks to a 3-1 comeback victory over struggling Liverpool at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

The hosts were behind inside 90 seconds as Rickie Lambert opened his Liverpool account, but goals from Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak saw Palace come back to claim an impressive three points.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Goal

Julian Speroni: Could not do much to prevent Liverpool from taking the lead early on, but that was the first and last shot on target he had to face this afternoon. (6/10)

Defence

Martin Kelly: Was caught out for the opening goal as Lambert snuck in behind him to latch onto Lallana's pass. Improved as the match wore on, though. (6/10)

Scott Dann: An assured display at the back as he dealt with the physical challenge of Lambert well. Looked solid throughout and allowed Liverpool no joy in front of goal after the early setback. (7/10)

Damien Delaney: Only played 36 minutes before being withdrawn due to injury. Put in a decent performance during his short time on the field, though. (6/10)

Joel Ward: A positive display both in defence and attack as he kept the dangerous Sterling quiet for long periods of the match. (7/10)

Midfield

Joe Ledley: More than held his own in the middle of the park and saw his fine performance capped off with a goal as he made a late run into the box to convert Bolasie's pass. (8/10)

Mile Jedinak: Another commanding performance on his return from suspension. Led by example in midfield as Palace held firm despite Liverpool boasting most of the possession. Also got on the scoresheet with a sumptuous free kick which wrapped up the points. (8/10)

Yannick Bolasie: Man of the match. Always dangerous in possession and provided his side with a counter-attacking threat that caused Liverpool plenty of problems. Struck the post in the build-up to the first goal and showed magnificent skill before setting up Ledley for the second. (9/10)

Marouane Chamakh: Played in the number 10 role behind Gayle and provided a good physical presence for Palace when they needed to lump the ball forward. Never really threatened to score himself, though. (6/10)

Jason Puncheon: Was full of energy and certainly put his shift in for the team, but did not have much of an impact on the ball himself. (6/10)

Attack

Dwight Gayle: Snapped up his side's first goal by following in Bolasie's shot. Now has four goals in three games against Liverpool, who struggled to deal with his pace at times. (7/10)

Substitutes

Brede Hangeland: Came on for Delaney 10 minutes before half time and helped to keep Liverpool at bay. (7/10)

James McArthur: Replaced Puncheon for the final 15 minutes but did not have a huge impact despite Palace scoring twice during his time on the field. (6/10)

Barry Bannan: Had a four-minute cameo when he replaced Bolasie, and did not have time to show what he could do. (6/10)

LIVERPOOL

Goal

Simon Mignolet: Could not do much about any of the goals, and made a couple of decent saves otherwise. However, does not command his area and intimidate strikers like the best keepers do. (6/10)

Defence

Javi Manquillo: Was given a tough time of things up against Bolasie, but generally dealt with it well when one-on-one. Was caught out of position now and again as he bombed forward, though. Also missed a good chance in the second half, skewing his effort out for a throw. (6/10)

Martin Skrtel: Was unfortunate to be penalised for the free kick which led to Palace's third goal, but overall a solid display despite conceding three times. (6/10)

Dejan Lovren: Was made to look like a bit of a fool by Bolasie in the build-up to Palace's second goal as he failed to deal with the winger's pace and trickery. (5/10)

Glen Johnson: A mixed bag. Kept Puncheon fairly quiet at one end, but failed to add anything substantial at the other, while also being careless in possession on a few occasions. (6/10)

Midfield

Joe Allen: Suffered an early head injury that meant that he was off the field for the equaliser. Was quite tidy in possession and tried to get something happening for Liverpool to no avail. (6/10)

Steven Gerrard: Had a few chances to produce one of his trademark long-range piledrivers, but was off target with all of them. Not his best performance. (5/10)

Adam Lallana: Set up the opening goal with a superb pass behind the Palace defence to his former Southampton teammate Lambert. Could not provide another piece of similar quality before being brought off with just over 20 minutes remaining. (6/10)

Raheem Sterling: Still not quite at his best, but always looks to be the Liverpool player most likely to make something happen. Had bright moments here and there, but ultimately did not have a big impact on the game. (6/10)

Philippe Coutinho: Like Sterling, showed flashes of his quality, including a fine run to help set up Manquillo in the second half. Was unable to unlock the Palace door, though. (6/10)

Attack

Rickie Lambert: Opened his account for the club after just 90 seconds with a lovely finish from Lallana's pass. Had a couple of other sights of goal but faded a little as the match wore on. Still should have done enough to earn a start next week. (7/10)

Substitutes

Fabio Borini: Replaced Lallana with just under 20 minutes remaining and hooked one effort over the bar. (6/10)

Emre Can: Came on for Allen in the 74th minute but was anonymous during his cameo. (6/10)
