Sturridge leaves tour with hamstring injury

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that striker Daniel Sturridge has left his side's tour of the US to receive treatment for a hamstring injury at the club's training ground.

The 41-year-old announced that the England international sustained a "minor" injury during a training session and will miss his side's final tour game against Manchester United.

Rodgers told reporters: "Dan has flown back to the UK. He wasn't going to be ready for the game on Monday - but there's no concern there, he'll be ready for Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.

"It was just best to get him back early, back to the training ground so he could get some treatment there. He had a really, really slight feeling in his hamstring. It's nothing major."

Sturridge missed Liverpool's latest pre-season game as they defeated AC Milan to set up the clash with the Red Devils on Monday.
