Rodgers: 'I'm looking forward to working with Suarez'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is looking forward to working with Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan is heading back to Melwood next week after representing his country at the Olympics.

Rodgers believes that Suarez's activity over the summer means that he will be fit upon his return to training and ready to hit the ground running.

"It will be fantastic to have Luis coming back, and he is already fighting fit," said the former Swansea manager.

"He will have a couple of days off and join up with us after this weekend.

"He's been playing games, so he will already be up to a decent level of fitness, maybe even higher really, because he's had more competitive games. I'm really looking forward to working with him."

The 25-year-old joined Liverpool from Ajax in 2011.
