Brendan Rodgers disappointed by boos for Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren

Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers shares his disappointment after Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren were booed on their return to Southampton in the Premier League.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed his disappointment after former Southampton players Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren were subjected to jeers as they made their returns to St Mary's in the Premier League.

The Anfield outfit came away with a 2-0 victory, but Rodgers has moved to register his annoyance at how some Southampton fans booed the two men who departed for Merseyside last summer.

"Today was always going to be difficult for the likes of Dejan and Adam," said Rodgers, according to the Daily Mail.

"I was a bit disappointed for him. He was captain here for two years, gave incredible service and could have left a number of times and didn't.

"To get the reception he did was disappointing. There was nothing in the match programme referencing his time here."

Liverpool's win sees them sitting in sixth spot in the Premier League standings.
