Liverpool 'approached by world's eighth-richest man'

Multi-billionaire Mukesh Ambani has reportedly enquired about buying Liverpool.

The club's current owners Fenway Sports Group recently released a statement indicating that they would be open to new investment.

There have already been a number of individuals and companies linked with a possible takeover, including reports of discussions with a US-based buyer.

According to The Mirror, there has also been interest from Ambani, who was rated as the eighth-richest person in the world by Forbes with a net worth of around £90bn.

The report claims that Ambani has enquired about a potential takeover, with Liverpool's owners believed to be looking to sell the club for £4bn.

Ambani currently owns Indian Premier League cricket teams Mumbai Indians, but he has previous experience in football after he helped establish the Indian Super League.

Steve Ballmer and Stephen Pagliuca, who currently own the LA Clippers and Boston Celtics respectively, have been linked with a potential takeover, while UFC star Conor McGregor has also expressed an interest in buying the club.
