Mark Bright: 'Arrogance has cost Liverpool the league title'

Former Crystal Palace striker Mark Bright accuses Liverpool of "arrogance" after their 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park.

Former Crystal Palace striker Mark Bright has accused Liverpool of underestimating the Eagles following their 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park on Monday.

The result means that Liverpool need West Ham United to beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to stand any chance of winning the league title.

"I observed after every goal the Liverpool boys grabbing the ball, running to the halfway line and putting the ball on the spot. I thought to myself, 'obviously they're going for goals'," Bright told talkSPORT.

"We've got a great record at home under Tony Pulis since he took over and not conceded too many. It smacked of a bit of arrogance to me. I just thought that got through to Tony and to the team and as we saw it was one of the great Premier League comebacks.

"For me I think the players sensed it [the arrogance], Tony had a chat and it changed. The most important thing for Brendan was to come away from Selhurst with three points. Then you're in with a chance of doing it on points never mind goal difference. You've got to go into the last game with real hope."

Liverpool face Newcastle United on the last day of the season.
