Leicester 'line up Rodgers to replace Puel'

Leicester City want Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Claude Puel, according to a report.

The Foxes are said to be prepared to swing the axe should they suffer a third successive defeat when they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers next weekend.

City followed up an embarrassing FA Cup third-round exit at Newport County with a 2-1 home loss to strugglers Leicester City on Saturday, only increasing the pressure on Puel.

Supporters have turned on the Frenchman in numbers, and The Sun reports that a change of management at St Mary's Stadium could be imminent, with Rodgers being lined up to take over.

Rodgers is said to be eyeing a return to the Premier League after two-and-a-half years with Celtic, where he is on course for a clean sweep of nine domestic titles from a possible nine.

The 45-year-old previously spent close to four years with Liverpool, guiding the Reds to second place in 2013-14, and also managed Swansea City in the English top flight.
