Leicester lineup vs. Wolves: Predicted XI for Premier League relegation six-pointer

Will Ward need to return in goal? Leicester predicted lineup vs. Wolves

Leicester City are facing a potential problem in goal ahead of their crucial Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Mads Hermansen was forced off at half time with a groin injury and will miss out here, meaning the Foxes are set to lose one of their most consistent performers so far this season.

Only Mark Flekken has made more saves than Hermansen's 65, with the Dane being kept busy between the sticks for Leicester, but coming up with some big performances.

Danny Ward is set to be the man to replace him, leaving many Leicester fans slightly worried, given his performances when they were relegated in 2022-23, subsequently leading to the signing of Hermansen.

Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will hope to have Odsonne Edouard and Wilfred Ndidi back before the end of the year to add some more bulk to his squad, and he will be able to call upon Boubakary Soumare again, after he sat out the 4-0 defeat at Newcastle United last week with suspension.

Hamza Choudhury was the man who replaced the suspended Soumare for a first start in three months at St James' Park, and even though he will most likely drop out of the team here, he may soon become a fully-fledged international, after switching his allegiance to Bangladesh during the week.

Further forward, Van Nistelrooy may reintroduce Facundo Buonanotte to the starting XI for the first time since his debut in the Leicester dugout against West Ham United.

The recent Argentinian international missed the draw with Brighton and was only on the bench away at Newcastle last week, but could return after the pasting they suffered, which included a rather toothless attacking display.

That was in no way the fault of the evergreen Jamie Vardy though, who, one month shy of his 38th birthday, continues to be the talisman in this Leicester team.

In his last four appearances, Vardy has scored twice and assisted twice, proving to be as pivotal as he was in the Foxes' previous stint in the Premier League.

The other injury news for Leicester concerns Abdul Fatawu, who is out for the season with an ACL tear, and full-back Ricardo Pereira, who is not yet close to returning from a muscle problem.

Leicester City possible starting lineup: Ward; Justin, Vestergaard, Coady, Kristiansen; Soumare, Skipp; McAteer, Buonanotte, El Khannouss; Vardy
