Leicester City have cancelled Gelson Fernandes's season-long loan deal from French club Saint-Etienne.
The Switzerland international departs the King Power Stadium having made 18 appearances for the club and scoring one goal.
"He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the football club for success in his future career," read a short statement on the club's official website.
Fernandes had a previous spell in England with Manchester City.
