Marc Albrighton charged with improper conduct by FA

Albrighton charged with improper conduct

Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton faces a two-game ban after being charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his sending-off against Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old was unhappy with referee Mike Dean's decision to reach into his back pocket after tangling with Wilfried Zaha in his side's 5-0 defeat.

Albrighton faced a one-match suspension for what is deemed a professional foul, but the FA has now charged the former Aston Villa wideman with a separate offence, potentially keeping him out until the final game of the season.

Speaking after the match, boss Claude Puel said: "I think it's not a red card, because it's a battle between two players. The opponent also takes the shirt and pulls the arm of Albrighton. It's a duel and, after we've seen the replay, it's harsh."

Albrighton has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
