Sporting Kansas City will clash with Portland Timbers at the Children's Mercy Park this weekend in their gameweek eight MLS fixture.

The hosts claimed a 2-0 win against St Louis City in their last outing, and they will be looking to claim their second victory of the season, while the visitors will be aiming to extend their four-game unbeaten run.

We say: Sporting Kansas City 1-2 Portland Timbers

Traditionally, this fixture produces loads of goals, and we expect a few to be scored. Given the recent fine form of Portland Timbers, coupled with the struggles of the hosts, we are backing the visitors to emerge 2-1 winners.

Chicago Fire vs. Inter Miami (Sunday, 9.30pm)

The Chicago Fire can hand Inter Miami their first defeat of the 2025 Major League Soccer campaign when the two sides square off on Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field.

A 2-1 defeat away to the New York Red Bulls dropped the Fire down to seventh in the Eastern Conference with 11 points, three fewer than the Herons, who are second after a 1-1 draw with Toronto.

We say: Chicago Fire 1-2 Inter Miami

Having a few extra days to rest should benefit the Fire, but the Herons always seem to find a way to get out of messy situations, and we believe they will find those magical moments on Sunday to get ahead.

St Louis City vs. Columbus Crew (Monday, 12.00am)

For the first time in MLS history, St Louis City and the Columbus Crew will face each other in the regular season, with that contest being the final match on Sunday at Energizer Park.

St Louis were blanked 2-0 by Sporting Kansas City last weekend, their third successive defeat, while Columbus climbed to the top of the Eastern Conference table with a 2-1 triumph at home to CF Montreal.

We say: St Louis City 0-2 Columbus Crew

Columbus are one of the best in the league at making in-game adjustments, which should come in handy against a St Louis side that get pinned far too deep in their end and eventually seem to pay the price.
