Steve Bruce confirms Hull City's Andre Gray pursuit is over

Hull pull out of Andre Gray running

Steve Bruce has admitted that Hull City have been priced out of a move for Brentford striker Andre Gray.

The Tigers were initially frontrunners to land the 24-year-old, before Bristol City reportedly agreed an £8m deal earlier this week.

Gray has yet to agree terms with the Robins, but Bruce has now revealed that Hull are all but out of the running to land the in-demand forward.

"It's pretty straightforward, we have not matched their valuation. It's frustrating but that is football management," he told BBC Sport. "I think he'd be a terrific asset for us, but unfortunately it is not to be."

Gray, who found the net in the Bees' win over Bristol City last weekend, scored 18 goals for his side in 2014-15 after joining from Luton Town.
