Michael Mancienne wants Hamburg stay

Former Chelsea centre-back Michael Mancienne wants to stay at Hamburg, having recently been restored to the starting lineup.

Michael Mancienne has insisted that he would like to remain a Hamburg player.

The former Chelsea defender had been out of favour under the management of Bert van Marwijk, but new boss Mirko Slomka has started the 26-year-old in the last three Bundesliga matches.

Having been restored to the team, Mancienne has expressed his desire to continue his career at the Imtech Arena.

"Of course, I would like to remain with the club," he told the Hamburger Morgenpost. "I would be delighted if the people at Hamburg would feel the same about it."

Mancienne joined his German employers from the West Londoners in 2011.
