Havertz, Gundogan named in Germany XI for England clash

Chelsea's Kai Havertz and Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan has been named in Germany's starting lineup for their UEFA Nations League clash against England at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.

Both players started on the bench in the 1-1 draw with Italy last Saturday, but the Premier League duo will begin from the start in Munich, with Timo Werner and Leon Goretzka dropping out of the side as a result.

Hansi Flick has made a total of seven changes to his starting lineup, with only goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Antonio Rudiger, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Muller retaining their places.

Real Madrid's new signing Rudiger will be joined at centre-back by Borussia Dortmund's new recruit Nico Schlotterbeck, while Lukas Klostermann and David Raum will operate as the full-backs.

Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry have been replaced by Jonas Hofmann and Jamal Musiala on the flanks, with Muller to start in the number 10 role behind Havertz in attack.

Dortmund's Marco Reus is the only absentee for Germany as he continues to recover from illness which also forced him to miss the draw with Italy.

Germany starting lineup: Neuer; Klostermann, Schlotterbeck, Rudiger, Raum; Kimmich, Gundogan; Hofmann, Muller, Musiala; Havertz

Germany Subs: Trapp, Baumann, Stach, Kehrer, Goretzka, Werner, Gnabry, Nmecha, Sule, Henrichs, Sane, Brandt

England starting lineup: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Rice, Phillips, Saka; Mount, Kane, Sterling

England Subs: Pope, Ramsdale, James, Alexander-Arnold, Guehi, Coady, Ward-Prowse, Gallagher, Bellingham, Bowen, Grealish, Abraham
