Wednesday's Champions League predictions including Galatasaray vs. Man United

Galatasaray vs. Man Utd (Wednesday, 5.45pm)

Needing to avoid defeat to stand any chance of a place in the Champions League knockout rounds, Manchester United make the long journey to Rams Park in Istanbul to face Galatasaray in Wednesday's Group A fixture.

The Red Devils sit at the foot of the section with a paltry three points under their belt, although their hosts are only one point and one place better off heading into the penultimate gameweek.

We say: Galatasaray 2-2 Manchester United

With an abundance of youthful and experienced attacking talent at their disposal, Galatasaray have already given Man United a taste of their offensive power and ought to ask more questions of Ten Hag's backline in front of their own supporters.

Whether Sunday's beating of Everton is a catalyst for change for the Red Devils remains to be seen, but with Rashford's ban adding to the visitors' shortages, we are struggling to back Man United with any real conviction and can envisage another high-scoring European affair ending level, keeping Ten Hag's team in with a shot of a top-two placement.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Sevilla vs. PSV (Wednesday, 5.45pm)

The Champions League destinies of Sevilla and PSV Eindhoven could both be decided this week, as the two Group B rivals face off at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Wednesday evening.

Los Palanganas are still winless in the section and have just two points next to their name, while their visitors occupy the runners-up position as things stand.

We say: Sevilla 1-2 PSV Eindhoven

Making the net ripple is never normally where Sevilla's issues lie - their misfortune can be often be traced back to a lack of defensive discipline - and such vulnerabilities are there for the PSV juggernaut to expose as the Dutch side aim to snap their horrendous away run in the Champions League.

Los Palanganas could and probably should have left Eindhoven with all three points in October, and we can envisage the hosts being punished for their late collapse in that game, as PSV condemn Sevilla to a third-placed finish at the very best while doing all they can to seal an early qualification.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bayern vs. Copenhagen (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

With their status as Group A winners already secure, Bayern Munich host Copenhagen at the Allianz Arena in Wednesday's Champions League contest.

While Thomas Tuchel's men have nothing but pride on the line for the final two matchdays, their Scandinavian counterparts are involved in a heated three-way battle for second place.

We say: Bayern Munich 3-0 Copenhagen

Copenhagen have left with their heads held high in all four of their Champions League contests so far this term, and only an 83rd-minute Mathys Tel intervention denied them a point against Bayern several weeks ago, but their loss at the weekend was alarming.

There is much more riding on Wednesday's match for the Danish outfit than Bayern, but the group winners remain as intimidating as ever at the Allianz Arena, and we can only picture Tuchel's side remaining perfect with a straightforward victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Arsenal vs. Lens (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Requiring just one more point to advance to the last 16 of the Champions League, Arsenal welcome Ligue 1 upstarts Lens to the Emirates Stadium for Wednesday's Group B clash.

The Gunners have accrued nine points from a possible 12 to render themselves uncatchable at this stage of proceedings, although their one slip-up so far came against Franck Haise's troops.

We say: Arsenal 2-0 Lens

Defensive excellence has been the theme for Lens over the past couple of weeks, but with the greatest respect to their Ligue 1 counterparts, facing Arsenal at the Emirates will be a completely different kettle of fish for Haise's troops.

The expected return of Danso will benefit Les Sang et Or to no end, and Arsenal have not shown the same attacking proficiency as they did in 2022-23, but Arteta's in-form troops should still strike on more than one occasion to storm into the last 16.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Real Madrid vs. Napoli (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

The top two in Group C of the Champions League meet at the Bernabeu on Wednesday, when Real Madrid host Napoli.

Carlo Ancelotti will face his former club already safe in the knowledge that his Real team will be in the knockouts in the new year, with top spot all that is left to play for.

We say: Real Madrid 2-1 Napoli

Real only need a draw to advance as group winners, and despite a large number of injury concerns, they should keep up their fine home record in this competition.

It has been an extremely difficult start for Mazzarri at Napoli and they have Inter Milan and Juventus to come in the next two domestically, but even after coming through a stern test in Bergamo at the weekend, it will be tough to replicate that here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Braga vs. Union Berlin (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Braga welcome Union Berlin to the Quarry in the Champions League on Wednesday in what could ultimately be a battle for third place.

The hosts must win in order to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages for the first time alive, while Union continue to seek a first win since August in any competition.

We say: Braga 2-0 Union Berlin

Braga will be confident in taking advantage of an out-of-form Union side to keep their hopes of the knockout stages alive, especially considering their blistering recent attacking form.

Union will be hoping for a new manager bounce under Bjelica, but with the morale of the squad still in tatters, it is tough to see them changing their fortunes in such a challenging encounter.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Benfica vs. Inter Milan (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Benfica and Inter Milan meet for the fourth time in 2023 when they face off at the Estadio da Luz in the Champions League on Wednesday.

In a repeat of last season's quarter-final, Benfica come into this one already eliminated and Inter have sealed their place in the knockout stage, but group positions could still be very important for both.

We say: Benfica 0-1 Inter Milan

A rotten campaign could well continue for Benfica, as they face an Inter side in imperious form.

Despite their fine domestic start, Benfica have looked miles off it on the continent, especially in the reverse where the Nerazzurri were utterly dominant despite the narrow scoreline, and any sort of repeat will yield the same outcome here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Real Sociedad vs. Salzburg (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Real Sociedad will look to strengthen their chances of winning Group D in the Champions League when they welcome Red Bull Salzburg to Anoeta on Wednesday.

The Spanish side have already secured a place in the knockout round, but they will be looking to beat Inter Milan to first place in order to secure a seeding in the last 16 draw.

We say: Real Sociedad 3-1 Red Bull Salzburg

Real Sociedad have been arguably the revelation of this Champions League campaign so far, sealing progression after just four games, and will hope for a favour from Benfica to boost their chances of winning the group heading into a matchday six encounter with Inter.

Salzburg dropping into the Europa League would give them a huge chance to be competitive, but it is likely to go down to the final matchday as it will be a big ask for them to get a result here, given Real's form.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
