Paulo Sousa appointed Fiorentina manager

Fiorentina have confirmed the appointment of Paulo Sousa as their new manager.

The 44-year-old left his position as the head coach of Basel earlier this week, following previous reports that he was in talks to join the Viola.

He has now completed a move to the Serie A club, where he will replace Vincenzo Montella, who was sacked last Monday.

Sousa has not previously managed an Italian club, but during his player career he had spells at Juventus and Inter Milan, winning the Champions League with the former.
