Moritz Hartmann inspires Ingolstadt to comeback victory over Darmstadt

FC Ingolstadt 04 have picked up their first Bundesliga win in five games by battling back from a goal down to beat SV Darmstadt 98 3-1 at Audi-Sportpark.

In a battle between last season's promoted clubs into Germany's top tier, it was the home side who were smiling come full time as they struck three times in the second half to claim all three points.

Darmstadt, with one win in their last seven now, got off to the perfect start when Aytac Sulu headed home Konstantin Rausch's corner just nine minutes in.

Pascal Gross almost levelled things up for the hosts from a well-struck free kick, before Lukas Hinterseer headed over the final chance of the first half.

Ingolstadt did manage to level things up soon after the restart, though, courtesy of first-half sub Robert Bauer's superbly hit strike.

A trip inside the box with an hour on the clock gifted Die Schanzer with a glorious chance to edge themselves ahead, and they did exactly that through Moritz Hartmann's penalty.

It was Hartmann who rounded things off, too, heading home from close range to lift his side up to eighth place in the Bundesliga standings.
