Report: Michael Owen in advanced Everton talks

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen is reportedly on the verge of joining Everton.

The 32-year-old, who scored 118 Premier League goals for the Reds between 1996 and 2004, is keen to join another top-flight club following his release by Manchester United in May.

Owen is in advanced talks with the Toffees and the move could be confirmed as early as this evening, according to the Daily Mail.

Owen was capped 89 times by England at senior international level, scoring 40 goals.
