A report claims that Everton are close to completing the signing of Odd BK's Rafik Zekhnini after the youngster was given permission to travel to England.

Everton are reportedly close to completing the signing of Odd BK youngster Rafik Zekhnini.

The 18-year-old, who has previously been linked with Manchester United, has scored five times in 20 appearances for his Norwegian club this season.

According to Varden, Zekhnini, who has one Norway Under-21 appearance to his name, has travelled to Everton to discuss a move to the Merseyside outfit.

Odd CEO Einar Handlykken is quoted as saying: "Rafik is not here today because he has been given permission to travel and meet a club that have shown interest in him.

"I will not comment on this other than that it is a European top club. We have received bids on him, but can not say anything about which club this is."

Everton are yet to comment on the situation surrounding the young forward.
