Michael Owen: Everton talk "just rumours"

Michael Owen has described speculation linking him with a move to Everton as "just rumours".

The former England striker is currently a free agent following his release from Manchester United at the end of last season.

As the Toffees were the club that the centre-forward supported as a child, some reports had linked the 32-year-old with a switch to Goodison Park.

However, when asked on the social networking site Twitter earlier today about a potential move to the blue half of Merseyside, Owen responded: "[It is] just rumours."

Owen has also been linked with Stoke City.
