Wayne Rooney has given England a boost after posting an online video of him training ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

The Manchester United striker missed the last two Premier League games of the season with a groin injury, but was included in Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad for the tournament.

Now, it appears that the 28-year-old is edging closer to fitness after releasing a video on his Facebook page showing off his speed.

The striker's son Kai, who is kitted out in an England strip, also makes an appearance in the video, which can be found below:
