Fire breaks out at Andorra stadium ahead of England clash

A fire breaks out at Andorra's national stadium before Saturday's World Cup 2022 Qualifying clash with England.

A section of Andorra's Estadi Nacional Stadium was engulfed in flames ahead of the visit of England in Saturday's World Cup 2022 Qualifying clash.

The Three Lions are due to resume their campaign to next year's tournament in Qatar this weekend seeking to keep the momentum going from their 4-0 Wembley victory over Andorra in September.

However, during a live Sky Sports News broadcast, a fire broke out by the gantry in between the two dugouts, with occupants of the flats above the pitch pictured watching on as firefighters tackled the blaze.

Reporter Rob Dorsett was giving an England team news update when the incident occurred, and the fire has since been put out with no reports of injuries, but it remains to be seen how Saturday's game will be impacted.

Andorra currently occupy fifth spot in UEFA World Cup 2022 Qualifying Group I with three points from six games - their only victory so far coming at home against San Marino last month.
