England manager Roy Hodgson will resign if fans want him out

England manager Roy Hodgson says that he will step down from his role if the supporters want him out after Euro 2016.

England manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that he will step down from his role if the supporters call for his axing after the European Championships this summer.

The former West Bromwich Albion boss will come to the end of his contract with the Football Association upon the conclusion of Euro 2016 in France.

Under Hodgson's guidance, the Three Lions were knocked out of the 2012 tournament in the quarter-finals and failed to get past the group stages at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"If it's the time for me to walk away and leave it to someone else, then so be it," Hodgson told talkSPORT. "I certainly won't be looking to walk away from it, but I won't be clinging on when most people are wishing I wasn't there anymore."

England are currently ninth in the FIFA world rankings.
