Daniel Sturridge "hurt" by England Euro 2012 omission

Sturridge "upset" at Euro snub

Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge has expressed his disappointment in not being included in England's final 23-man squad for Euro 2012.

The 22-year-old was overlooked by manager Roy Hodgson, despite being Chelsea's joint-top scorer of the season.

"I feel hurt, but you know, maybe it is a blessing in disguise," Sturridge told the Jamaica Observer.

"It's going to spur me on to do better. It's going to drive me to want more success and to be a better footballer. I'm upset about it, but not too much."

Meanwhile, the Three Lions are meeting today before jetting off to Eastern Europe for this month's elite tournament.
