Hello and welcome to Sports Mole’s live minute-by-minute text commentary of the Champions League game between Dynamo Kiev and Paris Saint-Germain in Ukraine. It promises to be a very entertaining and engaging game of football at the NSK Olimpiyskyi, and you can follow all the action live as it happens here.

Heading into this Group A fixture, PSG find themselves needing just a draw to qualify for the last 16. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are currently second in the group with nine points from four matches.

On the other hand, tonight’s hosts Kiev need to win this game to maintain their slim chance of progressing through to the last 16. Oleh Blokhin’s side are third in Group A with four points from as many matches.

Dynamo Kiev Starting Lineup: Koval, Danilo Silva, Betao, Taiwo, Khacheridi, Miguel Veloso, Garmash, Gusev, Haruna, Dudu, Ideye

PSG Starting Lineup:Sirigu, Thiago Silva, Alex, Maxwell, Van der Wiel, Sissoko, Nenê, Matuidi, Verratti, Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic

There are four changes from the Dynamo starting lineup that featured against Metalurh Donetsk in the league at the weekend, and lost 1-0. Maxim Koval has replaced Olexandr Shovkovskiy in goal, while Denys Garmash and Dudu are in for Ognjen Vukojevic and Andriy Yarmolenko. Ideye Brown will be the targetman instead of Marco Ruben.

The big news for PSG is that star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic starts tonight. The Sweden international missed his side’s last two Ligue 1 games because of suspension, and Carlo Ancelotti will be pleased to have him back in action tonight.

The two sides met on Matchday 1 and on that occasion, PSG ran out 4-1 winners in Paris. Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring from the penalty spot for the French giants, before centre-backs Thiago Silva and Alex found the target. Miguel Veloso pulled one back for Kiev but Javier Pastore made it 4-1.

After that loss, Kiev beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 at home, lost 3-2 to Porto away and drew 0-0 with the Portuguese giants in Ukraine.

PSG failed to build on that win on Matchday One, losing to Porto 1-0 away. However, Ancelotti’s side bounced back with a 2-0 away victory over Dinamo Zagreb and then beat them 4-0 at home, with Ibrahimovic creating all of those four goals.

This is the 14th time that Dynamo are involved in Champions League group stage, but their first since the 2009-10 campaign.

On the other hand, PSG are in the Champions League for the fifth time.

Some more interesting trivia for you now. Taye Taiwo, Yevhen Khacheridi and Miguel Veloso have played every minute of Dynamo's group stage campaign.

PSG have won just once away from home in the Champions League since 1997, while Kiev are yet to lose at home in Europe this season.

Heading into Matchday Five (before Tuesday’s games), PSG were the joint highest goalscorers in the Champions League this season alongside Bayern München, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Valencia with 10 goals.

For PSG, Salvatore Sirigu, Maxwell and Blaise Matuidi have all played each and every minute of their four Champions League matches.

Let’s now shift our discussion to what the two coaches had to say about tonight’s big match.

First up is Kiev coach Oleh Blokhin: “We have a small chance to go through, so our aim is to win. Yes, we have a lot of problems now... I understand that our fans are unhappy, but we are disappointed too. The coach is responsible for results, but the players have to know that they are responsible for their performances on the pitch. After this game, I will have a tough conversation with the club president, and I promise there will be major changes during the winter break. We need to finish the first part of the season with dignity, so you will see a really motivated Dynamo.”

Blokhin continues: “We are going to play to win against PSG, but more important is to show the same kind of desire and motivation that we did against Porto [on Matchday Four]. I know PSG also have some problems, but they are still a great side that made a lot of big transfers before the start of the season. And, yes, they have Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who can decide a game on his own. However, even he needs support, and if the teamwork is bad then it's difficult for any player to show their best.”

So Blokhin is intent on winning tonight, even though he admits that PSG will be very tough opposition. They will be the underdogs, but playing at home could give them an edge.

Now we have Carlo Ancelotti: “In football, like in life, anything can happen, including unexpected defeats. Of course, after the last league match we felt really upset. However, then we had a good team talk and came to satisfactory conclusions, so now we are eager to prove that it was just a blip. You will see that we are in great shape. The game against Dynamo Kiev is not only a chance to go through to the knockout stage, but also to cheer up after the last league failure.”

Ancelotti continues: “We know not losing in Kyiv will be enough to qualify but we have not come here for a draw. My task as a coach is to motivate the team. I believe in my players and they trust me."

Kickoff is just around 15 minutes away, so stay tuned to this page for all the action live.

BREAKING NEWS Rafael Benitez has been named as the new Chelsea manager. You can read all about it here.

Anyway, turning our attention back to our game now... Kickoff in Kiev is just 10 minutes away. In the other Group A match tonight, Porto will host Dinamo Zagreb.

It’s five minutes to kickoff, as the players are getting ready to come out on to the pitch.

The players are on the pitch now, as kickoff is just moments away...

And here we kick off...

The stadium is half-empty as the hosts look comfortable in possession at the moment.

PSG quickly go on a counterattack as Ibrahimovic tries to send Lavezzi through on goal, but his through ball is claimed by Koval.

Corner for Kiev, who are looking comfortable at the moment and are taking the game to PSG.

CHANCE THERE FOR KIEV! The corner is whipped in by Miguel Veloso, but Yevhen Khacheridi fails to keep his header on target. It sails over the PSG crossbar.

End-to-end stuff here, as Lavezzi earns his side a corner after some good work down the left flank.

ALEX! Oh, how did he miss that! Nene floats in a brilliant floating cross from the left flank that Alex gets a free header on, but he sees his attempt go agonisingly wide. That was the best chance of the game so far!

SIRIGU! The PSG goalkeeper almost made a howler there! Veloso floats in a free kick from the left that drops into a dangerous post inside the area. Sirigu comes off the line, but fails to get a proper touch. However, the danger is cleared away eventually.

ALEX! Brilliant defending there from the PSG centre-back, who puts in a great challenge on Ideye Brown just as he was about to pull the trigger on his shot.

Fifteen minutes gone in Kiev, and it is goalless between the two teams. It has been a very competitive match so far, with both sides showing their intent to bag maximum points from this fixture.

Veloso is once again looking very active as he runs down the left flank to create another attacking move for the home side, who need to win this game to stand any chance of progressing through to the last 16.

LAVEZZI! The Argentine forward is sent through down the right flank by Ibrahimovic he whips in a cross at Koval from an acute angle, but he is flagged offside.

VELOSO! The Kiev midfielder tries to curl in a free kick from 20 yards but he fails to get it on target. Veloso and Alex have been the pick of the players so far.

SIRIGU! Wonderful save from the PSG goalkeeper from a ferocious shot from Oleg Gusev from outside the penalty box! Kiev are starting to assert themselves on the match.

Wow, we have played the first half of the first half, and it has been absolutely engaging. It is still goalless, but it has been very entertaining and competitive.

Free kick to Kiev in a dangerous position on the left now, as Marco Verratti is deemed to have committed a foul on Dudu.

OH! HOW DID HE MISS THAT! A lovely free kick is floated in from the left that Gusev heads towards goal. Sirigu makes a brilliant save, but the ball falls to Denis Garmash, who inexplicably, shoots wide with an open goal in front of him.

Oh, I am still wondering how he could miss that chance. Garmash had an open goal to shoot at and he fired wide.

IBRAHIMOVIC! Now PSG go close to breaking the deadlock, as a free kick is drilled in from the left that Ibrahimovic turns towards the Kiev goal, only for Koval to make a comfortable save.

Good work there from Ibrahimovic, as he weaved his magic and picks out Lavezzi, but Khacheridi heads the ball away from danger.

Blaise Matuidi is shown the yellow card for PSG.

VELOSO! The Kiev midfielder comes close again, this time with a left-footed free kick.

PSG are leaving gaps at the back that Kiev could take advantage of.

DUDU! Dudu is released by Haruna on the left and after getting past Van der Wiel, he shoots just past the PSG goal. That was a good chance.

Ten minutes to half-time in Kiev, as the two sides are still locked at 0-0.

Yellow card there for PSG midfielder Mohamed Sissoko for his challenge on Miguel Veloso.

Five minutes to half-time at the NSK Olimpijskyi. It is still 0-0. The result will suit PSG, who will go through to the last 16 with a draw tonight. But Kiev needs to win tonight, or else they will be eliminated from the Champions League.

Good clearance there from Thiago Silva, as Veloso sends through Dudo inside the PSG area on the left, but the Brazilian defender shoots the ball away from danger.

GOAL LAVEZZI SCORES! 1-0 to PSG. The visitors make a quick counter attacking move that sees Ibrahimovic find the ball on the right. The Swedish forward then slips a well-measured pass to Lavezzi, who shoots past Koval into the Kiev net from inside the 18-yard box.

Wow, that was a very quick goal from PSG, who turned defence into attack in a matter of seconds!

It is half-time in Ukraine, as Dynamo Kiev are trailing Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 at home. In what a hugely entertaining first 45 minutes, Ezequiel Lavezzi gave the French outfit the lead on the stroke of half-time when he slotted home a crisp pass from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Dynamo coach Oleg Blokhin will be furious with what happened at the end of that first half. Both sides had chances and both sides went close, but it was the hosts who dominated proceedings for much of the time. But here they are, trailing 1-0 at the break.

Dynamo now have to score twice in Kiev to stand a chance of going through to the Champions League last 16. PSG are going through to the knockout rounds as things stand.

The second half promises to be a very intense affair, with Dynamo expected to throw everything they have to muster the three points. Stay on this page to follow all the action live as it happens in the second 45 minutes.

The second half is about to start, as the two sets of players come on to the pitch.

And here we start with the second-half action in Kiev.

HARUNA! Lukman Haruna shoots at the PSG goal from a narrow angle that forces a good save from Sirgu. That was a fierce shot!

Five minutes gone in the second half, and it remains 1-0 to PSG. However, Dynamo are looking very urgent to equalise and are forcing their visitors to defend deep.

GOAL Lavezzi scores and makes it 2-0 to PSG!

What an absolute howler that was from Dynamo, what a shocker! Khacheridi tries to pass the ball back to Koval inside his area, but it is intercepted by Matuidi and eventually falls to Lavezzi, who taps the ball in from just two yards.

PSG are 2-0 up and you would be pardoned to believe that they have done enough to secure the three points and a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

PSG seem to have gained more confidence after their second goal and are pressing on for more. 10 minutes played in this second half, and PSG lead Dynamo Kiev 2-0. The Ukrainian hosts need to win tonight to stand any chance of progressing to the last 16.

SIRIGU! Brilliant save from the PSG goalkeeper as he palms away an effort from Dudu just as it seemed that it would be beyond his reach. The Italian has made a number of good and important saves for the French visitors tonight.

Half an hour left in this game, and PSG are still leading 2-0. Dynamo Kiev have to score thrice in the next 30 minutes to keep alive their chances of playing Champions League football after Christmas.

Yevhen Khacheridi earns a yellow card for his challenge on Ibrahimovic. He is the second Dynamo player to go into the referee’s books tonight after Betao. Mohamed Sissoko, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti have been shown the yellow card for PSG so far in this game.

HARUNA! The Dynamo attacker shoots at the PSG goal again, but Sirigu makes a good save.

SUBSTITUTION Dynamo make a double change now. Artem Milevsky comes on for Lukman Haruna and Andriy Yarmolenko replaces Oleh Husyev.

SUBSTITUTION PSG too make a chance. Carlo Ancelotti brings on Clement Chantome for Mohamed Sissoko.

In the other Group A game tonight, Porto are leading Dinamo Zagreb 2-0.

Taye Taiwo is down injured at the moment. He is getting medical attention at the moment and will be able to resume play shortly.

Dynamo are still going forward, looking for a goal that they hope will bring them back into the game. But it appears that PSG have done enough to go back to Paris with maximum points.

One Dynamo player for whom I feel for tonight is Miguel Veloso. He has been absolutely brilliant for the hosts in the midfield, creating numerous chances in the first half and also going close on two occasions. He does not deserve to end up on the losing team tonight.

SUBSTITUTION Andriy Bogdanov replaces Denis Garmash for Dynamo.

SUBSTITUTION Change for PSG. Sylvain Armand comes on for Marco Verratti.

Ten minutes of normal time remain in Kiev. PSG lead Dynamo 2-0.

Good defending there from Taye Taiwo. PSG move forward down the middle and then Nene passes the ball to the right to Gregory Van Der Wiel, who is dispossessed by the Dynamo defender.

SIRIGU! Once again the PSG goalkeeper denies Dudu, who has looked very lively in the second half. Once again, it was Veloso with the pass to set up Dudu.

Five minutes of normal time remain, as PSG lead Dynamo 2-0 in Kiev. Meanwhile, Porto have gone 3-0 up against Dinamo Zagreb.

Nene is shown the yellow card now for PSG.

SUBSTITUTION Nene comes off for Javier Pastore for PSG.

Artem Milevsky is shown the yellow card for Dynamo.

Another booking for Dynamo. Danilo Silva goes into the referee’s books for a dangerous and unnecessary challenge on Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Three minutes of injury time have been awarded here. PSG lead Dynamo 2-0 at the moment.

MILEVSKIY! Yarmolenko sends in a brilliant cross from the right that Milevskiy fails to head on goal.

It is all over in Kiev as Paris Saint-Germain have defeated Dynamo Kiev 2-0 in their Champions League Group A clash tonight. The result means that PSG are through to the last 16 and Dynamo are out of the competition.

Despite Dynamo having the bulk of the chances in the first half, it was PSG who made the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time through Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Argentine forward scored his second goal of the evening in the 52nd minute to wrap up maximum points for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

I hope that you enjoyed our live coverage of the match here on Sports Mole. Have a good night. It’s goodbye from me for now.
