Palace planning new Damien Delaney deal?

Crystal Palace have reportedly decided to reward Damien Delaney for his positive performances this season with a new contract.

The Irish defender's current deal at Selhurst Park is due to expire in the summer, when he would become a free agent.

Recent speculation had claimed that due to the fact that Delaney will turn 35 next July, Palace manager Alan Pardew would focus his attention on signing a new centre-back.

However, according to The Mirror, Pardew is eager for the Cork-born player to extend his stay with the South Londoners by a further 12 months.

Delaney joined the Eagles from Ipswich Town in 2012 and he has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Premier League club.
