Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reignited their interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer.
Since the arrival of new head coach Thomas Frank, Spurs have strengthened their squad with the £55m addition of Mohammed Kudus and the loan signing of Joao Palhinha, while both Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have made their loan moves permanent.
The Lilywhites have also parted ways with club legend Son Heung-min, who has joined LAFC for a reported £15m, while James Maddison suffered an ACL injury in pre-season which is set to see him sidelined for the majority of the 2025-26 campaign.
As a result, Spurs are actively looking for reinforcements in the final third and they are allegedly in talks with Manchester City over a permanent deal for winger Savinho.
It is understood that a €50m (£43.3m) proposal has been sent by Spurs, but Man City are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old Brazil international and are demanding a ‘huge’ fee.
Eze ‘keen’ to join Spurs, but Arsenal remain in the race
In a separate deal, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Tottenham are back in talks to sign Eze and are trying again to prise him away from Crystal Palace.
Romano adds that the 27-year-old is keen to make the move to Spurs, but a transfer away from Selhurst Park will depend on Palace, now that the player’s £68m release clause has expired.
The injury to Maddison as well as Tottenham’s failed move for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White earlier this summer is understood to have led to Frank’s side intensifying their pursuit of Eze.
Spurs are seemingly prepared to rival fellow North Londoners Arsenal, who have also been credited with a strong interest in the England international this summer.
The Gunners have already spent around £200m to sign six new players this summer, but head coach Mikel Arteta recently claimed that the club are actively looking at bringing in more players before the September 1 deadline.
According to The Guardian, Arsenal are believed to be Eze’s favoured destination should he leave Palace, but the Gunners’ pursuit of the playmaker may hinge on the possible exit of Leandro Trossard.
Influential Eze wanted by Spurs, Arsenal before transfer deadline
Eze has spent the last five seasons at Selhurst Park where he has become a fans' favourite and an integral first-team player under head coach Oliver Glasner.
The former Queens Park Rangers youngster enjoyed his best scoring season in an Eagles shirt in 2024-25, netting 14 goals and registering 11 assists in 43 appearances across all tournaments.
Eze fired Palace to their first-ever major trophy in the club’s 120-year professional history as he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final in May.
The playmaker also played for the Eagles in last weekend’s Community Shield win over Premier League champions Liverpool at Wembley, although he did miss from the penalty spot in a 3-2 shootout win for Glasner’s side.
