Cordoba threw away a lead in the final moments of their match against Getafe to suffer a 2-1 defeat in La Liga this evening.

Florin Andone put the league's bottom side ahead inside the last 15 minutes, but a calamitous own goal from Fede Vico leveled the scores with three minutes to go.

Juan Rodriguez sealed the win for the visitors, heading the ball home in stoppage time.

Good evening! It's just half an hour until two of La Liga's relegation-threatened sides go head-to-head. Let's start with a look at the teams...

CORDOBA STARTING XI: Saizar, Crespo, Lopez, Campabadal, Vico, Ekeng, Cartabia, Garcia, Zuculini, Bebe, Ghilas

GETAFE STARTING XI: Guaita, Alexis, Velazquez, Naldo, Escudero, Lacen, Sarabia, Leon, Castro, Rodriguez, Vasquez

CORDOBA SUBSTITUTES: Carlos, Delgado, Edimar, Fidel, Abel, Rossi, Andone

GETAFE SUBSTITUTES: Lopez, Hinestroza, Vigaray, Yoda, Valera, Selma, Diawara

Goals have been few and far between in recent weeks for Cordoba, but Nabil Ghilas continues as the lone striker for the hosts.

Alvaro Vazquez will lead the attack for the visitors. He's scored four goals in as many games for Getafe, including a brace in their defeat to Malaga last time out.

Ahead of kickoff, Getafe defender Juan Valera, who is not in the matchday squad, told Spanish newspaper Marca: "We are heading into an important phase of the season where every game is vital. We have prepared in the best possible way for what will be a very difficult match in Cordoba. Cordoba are at the foot of the standings and they will be desperate to get a win. For them this is a vital game but it's also an important game for us. A win would really be a boost in confidence for us while it would pile on further misery for Cordoba."

Meanwhile, Cordoba coach Miroslav Djukic told reporters: "There are still many finals left to play and we cannot give up. We need to keep fighting. My players handed a good performance at Espanyol and this is something to build on."

Even a win for Cordoba this evening won't be enough to move them off the bottom of the table as they're four points behind Granada. Victory for Getafe would move them further away from danger though. They head into this match 15th, but three points would lift them up to 12th.

Here's a look inside the Cordoba dressing room a little earlier:

PREDICTION! As the players start to make their way out, there's just time for a quick prediction. Getafe's form hasn't been great recently, but they've looked stronger that Cordoba, so I'm going for a 1-0 away win.

KICKOFF! Cordoba get the match underway!

The home side have an early opportunity as Bebe is brought down 30 yards out. Zuculini curls the ball in towards the winger in the box, but there's a foul before he can get the ball away. Incidentally, the pitch is looking rather patchy tonight, which could make things tricky for both sides.

CHANCE! The visitors come close down the other end as Diego Castro unleashes a powerful effort from just outside the box, but Campabadal deflects it behind for a corner, which is soon dealt with by the Cordoba defenders.

The home side quickly force a corner down the other end, but Cartabia's attempt at slicing it in low from the edge of the box is mis-hit, and it goes well wide.

CHANCE! Cordoba are certainly looking sharp in the opening few minutes as Ghilas finds himself in space down the left, and he cuts inside before trying to fire in low, but it's off target. Campabadal is fuming with the striker, believing that he should have passed it to him instead of taking on the shot from a tight angle.

Mikel Saizar struggles to get hold of a Sarabia shot, spilling it back into the path of the midfielder, but Crespo eventually rescued the keeper, putting it behind for another Getafe corner, which comes to nothing. It's been a fairly open start to the match, with chances at both ends.

Diego Castro gives the ball away, allowing Bebe to race down the right flank for Cordoba. He spots Ghilas arriving in the middle and looks to get the cross in, but it's well blocked by Escudero.

Getafe have been seeing a bit more of the ball in the last few minutes and pressing forward, but they're struggling to find each other in the penalty box, while a long-range effort from Mehdi Lacen is blocked.

BOOKING! A two-footed challenge on Sergio Escudero earns Federico Cartabia the first booking of the night.

Bebe has shown some good pace and determination going forward for the hosts so far, but he takes on a rather ambitious 25-yard lob, which he sends well wide.

Vico quickly wins it back for Cordoba and crosses it in towards Ghilas in the center, but the striker can't quite get his foot to it, allowing Guaita to claim it for the visitors. This is a good spell from the hosts though.

Cartabia gets involved in Cordoba's attack, sprinting down the right before sending in a dangerous-looking cross, but Naldo spots the danger and manages to head it clear for the visitors. Cordoba really have looked sharp in the last few minutes though.

CHANCE! Sarabia squares the ball to Pedro Leon just outside the box, and he hits it sweetly first time, but it swerves just to the left of the post. It had Saizar beaten, but just wasn't quite on target for Getafe

Getafe are struggling to take their corner as there's not a lot of grass left near the corner flag. Sarabia eventually manages to whip it in superbly, but Saizar beats everyone to it and punches clear.

Cordoba quickly try to apply the pressure down the other end, with Borja eventually getting the shot away after Fede Cartabia crossed the ball from a corner, but his drilled effort from the edge of the box was always rising, and ended up in the crowd behind the goal.

Cordoba are looking sharp again as Bebe sprints towards the box for the hosts, but he can't find a teammate as he tries to feed in through. The home side soon win in back though, resulting in another high effort from Borja.

CHANCE! Vicente Guaita has to make a superb save to deny Edu Campabadal as the defender bursts into the box to receive a through-ball from Borja, attempting to lash it into the top right, but the Getafe keeper is alert and turns it behind.

CHANCE! Guaita is really coming under pressure between the posts for Getafe in the final minutes of this first half as Bebe has the ball again, this time from a free kick. He goes straight for goal from range, but the keeper does enough again to keep the scores level.

Cordoba are continuing to enjoy the majority of the possession at the minute as Ghilas and Ekeng try to team up in the box, but the latter's first touch is lacking, and Getafe have the goal kick.

Bebe sends in another dangerous looking cross for the hosts, but Getafe are ready for it, and quickly make the clearance.

HALF TIME: Cordoba 0-0 Getafe

So it's still goalless at half time as Cordoba and Getafe head off the pitch. The visitors created the better chances early on, but it was certainly the hosts who finished on the front foot.

Here are some of the numbers from the opening 45 minutes. Cordoba saw a lot more of the ball, with 61% of the possession. They had just one more shot that the visitors thought with nine, and had just two on target, compared with four for Getafe.

Getafe have a few options on the bench if they want to try to halt Cordoba's dominance. Former Sevilla striker Papa Babacar Diawara could come into the attack if needed, while Abdoul Yoda and Valera are among the midfield options. Midfield is really where they struggled towards the end of the first period, with Bebe's pace and Cartabia's versatility stretching the visitors.

The players are starting to make their way back out ready for the start of the second half.

RESTART! Getafe get the action back underway.

Cordoba try to continue their momentum from the end of the first half as Ghilas charges down the right in the early moments of this second half, but his cross is blocked with ease.

Cartabia is on the attack next for the hosts, but he loses out to Diego Castro, who tries to create something on the counter, but he doesn't have teammates with him in support, and is soon crowded out.

CHANCE! Ghilas weaves his way through the middle, holding off a challenge from Escudero to get the shot away, but it was always rising and ends up well high.

Getafe really haven't been involved since the restart, and it looks like that's going to force them into some early changes, as three of their subs have started warming up.

Castro tries to create something for the visitors to stop Cordoba's dominance, and he holds off a couple of defenders to get the cross in, but there's no-one there in the middle, and it's claimed by the keeper.

CHANCE! Saizar is called into action for the first time in quite a while as Getafe try to force a shot from range, but Juan Rodriguez's effort is easily saved by the Cordoba stopper.

CHANCE! Cordoba are soon back down the other end, with Campabadal's cross finding Ghilas, but his volley flashes well high.

SUB! The hosts make the first change of the night as Florin Andone replaces Cartabia. That should give Ghilas a bit more support up front.

Cordoba have a corner, which Bebe curls in low, landing it right in the middle of a crowd of his teammates, but in a bit of scamble to try to get the shot away, it's Valezquez who manages to boot it clear.

CHANCE! Andone has his first opportunity since coming off the bench a few minutes ago as Bebe is on set piece duty again, this time firing a free kick into the box, but the striker's header is wide.

BOOKING! Lacen is down injured and he appears to be clutching his head. Alexis fumes at the referee as he lets play continue, and he talks himself into the booking. As play does stop, both sets of players look concerned by the midfielder's condition, but he does seem to be conscious.

It was an accidental elbow from Andone that appears to have caught Lacen in the eye. He's helped to the side of the pitch, but is looking a little wobbly, and the doctor is ready to check him over to see whether he is able to continue.

Getafe win a corner while the midfielder is on the sideline, but he's cleared to continue to help the visitors attack it. It comes to nothing though.

CHANCE! Ghilas and Andone have looked a lively pairing since the latter's introduction, and he's almost in as Ghilas picks him out with a through-ball, but Guaita rushes out to block the shot, taking a boot to the ribs in the process.

SUB! The visitors make their first change, and it's Pedro Leon who makes way for Fredy Hinestroza.

Getafe try to create what has been a rare opportunity for them in this second half, but Velazquez's tame finish is easily claimed by Saizar as Crespo help him up superbly.

BOOKING! Andone is shown the yellow card for a high foul on Alexis.

CHANCE! Cordoba break on the counter-attack, with a high ball forward falling for Ghilas. Naldo slips while trying to hold the striker up, but the finish ends up in the side netting.

SUB! It's a second change for the home side as Fidel replaced Bebe, who has worked hard but has tired.

GOAL! Cordoba 1-0 Getafe (Florin Andone)

The substitute has looked mighty since coming on a short time ago, and he shows stunning footwork to round Naldo before blasting it in with a powerful looping finish. It's a sensational strike from the forward and it could be enough to give the home side a vital win.

Getafe are given time on the ball as they look to get back on level terms, but once they're in the box Cordoba clear the danger with ease. They've defended well so far tonight, and now they have a lead to protect it's vital that continues.

SUB! The visitors send on fresh legs to try to get back into the match, with Mehdi LAcen making way for Abdoul Karim Yoda.

SUB! There's also a switch for Cordoba as Borja is replaced by Fausto Rossi.

Alexis is venting his frustration to the referee as Cordoba try to run the clock down. The Getafe defender has already been booked, so he needs to be careful.

BOOKINGS! Inigo Lopez will miss the next game for Cordoba as he and Naldo are both cautioned by a coming together in midfield. It's all getting rather tempered and scrappy at the minute.

The visitors win a free kick in midfield, and it's launch deep into the penalty area. Saizar comes off his line to try to punch it clear, and he misses it, but Castro is slow to reach, leaving Lopez to clear.

GOAL! Cordoba 1-1 Getafe (Fede Vico OG.)

Fede Vico buries his head in his hands as calamity descends and the defender flicks the ball past his own keeper. It really is a ridiculous own goal! Getafe cross the ball in, and there's no-one there to meet the ball. Vico goes to clear, but he half changes his mind at the last minute as Saizar calls for it, and somehow he ends up putting it past the keeper. That's one that will be shown on bloopers compilations for years!

Cordoba are pressing hard to try to re-establish their lead in the final minutes of this match, but Castro and Naldo both make clearances as the match head into five minutes of stoppage time.

GOAL! Cordoba 1-2 Getafe (Juan Rodriguez)

It's a cruel, cruel end to match for Cordoba as Getafe force a corner, which Serabia takes. It's not a particularly noteworthy delivery, but Cordoba just don't defend it, leaving Juan Rodriguez a free header into the top right corner. The home fans aren't sticking around for the final two minutes of stoppage time it seems, as they're leaving on mass after that!

Getafe aren't trying to add to their lead, they know Cordoba's heads have dropped and they can just keep the ball at the back to run down the remaining seconds.

FULL TIME: Cordoba 1-2 Getafe

What an absolutely heartbreaking evening for Cordoba. They were just three minutes from their first win in almost two months, but a ridiculous own goal and some truly non-existent defending allowed Getafe to snatch the win in stoppage time.

Cordoba worked incredibly hard for their one-goal lead, but the late comeback by the visitors means they remain seven points from safety at the foot of the table. The three points for Getafe lifts them up to 12th, just a points behind Real Sociedad.

So that's all from this match, but if Spanish football's your thing join us again tomorrow when Real Madrid will be in Champions League action. Until then, thanks for joining me this evening. Goodbye!
