Trialist Femi Akinwande joins Colchester United

Colchester United have secured the services of Femi Akinwande.

The U's took the striker on trial earlier this month following his return of 12 goals in 18 appearances for Ryman League side Maldon & Tiptree.

Having impressed the League One outfit's coaching staff, Akinwande has earned himself a deal at the Colchester Community Stadium until the end of the season.

The club's official Twitter feed confirmed this afternoon that the attacker will initially link up with the club's Under-21 side.
