A report claims that Chelsea want Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho to replace Eden Hazard, who is expected to join Real Madrid in the coming months.

Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho has reportedly been targeted by Chelsea to become the heir to Real Madrid-bound Eden Hazard.

The Blues allegedly accept that their star player Hazard will quit this summer after years of flirting with the Spanish giants.

Finding a replacement will not be easy, but Telefoot claims that the West London outfit have one target in particular lined up.

Chelsea believe that Coutinho can do a job for them should he replicate the form shown at Premier League rivals Liverpool, which earned him a nine-figure move to Barcelona in January 2018.

Should they miss out on the Brazil international, the report indicates that Maurizio Sarri's men will instead look to Lille forward Nicolas Pepe.

A FIFA-imposed two-window transfer ban may kick in this summer, however, preventing Chelsea from making any signings.
