Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is in talks with a 'big club' over a potential move in the summer as he looks to leave Stamford Bridge.
The Senegal international has registered 30 goals and 12 assists from 81 appearances in all competitions for the Blues since joining from Villarreal, but he has become surplus to requirements at the club.
Jackson, who has a contract at the London club until 2033, is open to leaving the Blues this summer, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich vying for his signature.
The striker has reportedly informed his friends that he wants to move to Villa to reunite with Unai Emery, but Chelsea's £70m valuation of the player has proved to be a major obstacle for his suitors.
Jackson expected to leave Chelsea
According to a report from The Sun, Villa are struggling this year under ongoing Financial Fair Play regulations, and they might not be able to match Chelsea's asking price.
Newcastle have asked the Blues to keep them updated about the 24-year-old's situation, but despite needing a new striker, Eddie Howe's side have yet to submit a formal bid.
However, an unnamed 'big club' has been in contact with Jackson’s camp, and talks are ongoing to secure a deal. Bayern are also interested, but they have other targets, such as Nick Woltemade and Christopher Nkunku.
Enzo Maresca has admitted that the Senegal international is not a part of his first-team plans, and confirmed that the player will leave if there is a good offer on the table.
Aston Villa can still strike a deal for Jackson
Jackson is likely to drop the pecking order at the club following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and a move away from the Bridge would be ideal for him.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed on X that Chelsea are reluctant to send Jackson out on loan, especially if the deal does not have the obligation to buy him permanently next summer.
Villa and Newcastle can definitely try to secure a loan deal for Jackson, provided they commit to sign him permanently later. The potential suitors are hoping that the price would drop towards the end of the window or that Chelsea would agree to send the striker on loan.
The Blues need to offload the likes of Jackson and Nkunku as they want to accelerate deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, both of whom are expected to leave their respective clubs.
