Chief Magistrate: 'John Terry has a case to answer'

The Chief Magistrate in charge of John Terry's racism trial has insisted that the Chelsea captain has a case to answer.

Terry's defence had argued earlier today that the case against Terry, who stands accused of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand, should be thrown out of court.

However, following a lunch break, Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle informed the court that the trial would continue.

Terry has now been called to the witness stand to give his account of the incident, which took place at Loftus Road last year.
