Asmir Begovic: 'I will respect Jose Mourinho decision on starting keeper'

Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic insists that he will respect the decision of Jose Mourinho should he choose to replace him with Thibaut Courtois.

Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic has revealed that he will respect the decision of Jose Mourinho should the Portuguese replace him with Thibaut Courtois when the Belgian regains full fitness.

Begovic has started in goal for the Blues since Courtois sustained a knee injury in September, and has been solid for Mourinho's men despite their struggles this season.

However, Courtois is edging towards a return to action and should be fit by the middle of December, but Begovic has insisted that he will have no qualms about losing his starting spot should Mourinho opt to hand the 23-year-old his place back between the sticks.

"I don't think about it too much, I just take it game by game, my job is to contribute when I play and to be a good teammate," Begovic told Sky Sports News.

"When Thibaut is back, the manager will have to make a decision and I will just concentrate on my job and try to play as many games [as possible].

"I leave all that down to the manager, I will respect the decision. I'll work hard no matter what the circumstances are. I'm a big part of the team, we've got so many games that you have just got to concentrate on your job and contribute."

Chelsea face Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash later today.
