The vice president of Al Shabab Al Arabi has revealed that they are interested in appointing former Celtic boss Neil Lennon as their new manager.
The United Arab Emirates outfit have reportedly offered Lennon a starting salary of £30,000 per week to replace Marcos Paqueta, who left the club last week.
Although the Al Shabab chief, Mohammad Al Merri, denied that negotiations were that advanced, he did confirm that Lennon was one of five names being considered for the post.
He told Gulf News: "We have not yet finalised on our direction but he is one of the names presented to us.
"There are five coaches in the running but we still haven't negotiated.
"The other candidates are mainly South American. We can't name the other candidates but we expect to confirm the new coach by the end of next week."
The 42-year-old quit his role with the Scottish champions last month.
