Celta Vigo beat Levante

Augusta Fernandez gives Celta Vigo a 1-0 win over Levante in La Liga.

Celta Vigo have secured a 1-0 win over Levante in La Liga this afternoon.

Natxo Insa had a chance to put the visitors in front in the 17th minute, but it was Augusto Fernandez who broke the deadlock three minutes later, heading in from a Michael Krohn-Dheli cross.

The hosts almost equalised straight away, with Nabil El Zahr taking a shot from inside the penalty area, but his effort was saved.

Fernandez nearly added his second before half time, but Keylor Navas was able to stop the strike, leaving Levante just a goal down at the break.

The home side won a penalty early in the second half after Robert Acquafresca was brought down by Jonny, but Barkero's spot kick went wide of the post.

Both sides continued to create a host of chances, but neither were able to find the back of the net.

The result moves Celta Vigo up to 16th in the table.
