Luiz Felipe Scolari says that Brazil are heading in the right direction but warns that there is still work to be done ahead of next year's World Cup finals.

Luiz Felipe Scolari has said that his Brazil team are starting to win the fans over following tonight's 4-2 victory over Italy in Salvador.

A brace by Fred, as well as another fine strike from Neymar, helped the Selecao finish top of the Confederations Cup Group A and set up a likely semi-final clash with South American rivals Uruguay.

Scolari said that there is still more work to do ahead of next year's World Cup, but insists that the team are "on the right path".

"I think the Selecao gained a lot of confidence with this victory and are also winning over the fans," Scolari told reporters.

"We are slowly developing and discovering where we go wrong to correct those elements for the future.

"There is a very long way to go, but we are working on it and more importantly are on the right path."

Uruguay need to beat Tahiti to be certain of qualification from Group B.
