Borussia Monchengladbach steal point late on

Borussia Monchengladbach save a point late on against Stuttgart, but drop to fifth in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Monchengladbach have salvaged a point late on at home to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga having been behind for much of the game.

Struggling Stuttgart looked nervous early on but had the first real effort of the game when Timo Werner struck from outside the box, but his effort was always moving wide.

However, with the very next attack the away side did take the lead. Werner set up Daniel Didavi, who managed to turn the ball in from inside the box.

Gladbach started to get into the game midway through the half and Christoph Kramer came close with an effort from a long way out, but he could only put his shot just wide.

Arthur Boka then set up Martin Harnik for the away side and he confidently shot from just outside the box, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen did well to make the save.

In the second half Alvaro Dominguez was presented with space to turn inside the box and after shooting high and hard his effort was tipped over the bar by Sven Ulreich.

Just as it looked as though Stuttgart would hold on for all three points, Juan Arango met a Max Kruse delivery to head his side level for a share of the points.
