Klopp hails "extraordinary" Gundogan

Borrusia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has described his midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as an "extraordinary player".

The likes of Mario Gotze, Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski have all claimed the headlines during the club's run to the Champions League final - which they will play on Saturday evening against fellow German outfit Bayern Munich.

However, Klopp believes that 22-year-old Gundogan is just as deserving of the plaudits.

"We got him [in summer of 2011] and he has turned into a real strategist," Klopp told UEFA's official website. "It is extraordinary. Not many players can do that.

"Many players can play in a small space, play fast and do a lot of great things, but to have such vision, such a passing game, such an eye for the situation, is extraordinary and makes him an extraordinary player."

Gundogan has made seven appearances for the German national team, scoring one goal.
