Borussia Dortmund lodge a second appeal against the three-match ban on Robert Lewandowski, but won't get the result until next month.

Borussia Dortmund have lodged a second appeal against the three-match ban imposed on striker Robert Lewandowski.

The 24-year-old striker was handed the suspension for his altercation with Rafael van der Vaart during the defending German champions' clash against Hamburg in the Bundesliga earlier this month.

The German football federation (DFB) will make the decision on the second appeal on March 1, a day before Dortmund are due to face Hannover in what would be the final match that Lewandowski would be suspended for.

Lewandowski missed Dortmund's game against Eintracht Frankfurt because of the ban and will also sit out the clash against Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.
