Half-Time Report: Borussia Dortmund lead in Ruhr derby

A goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given Borussia Dortmund the lead over Schalke 04 at half time in the Ruhr derby.

The hosts started brightly, with both Kevin-Prince Boateng and Adam Szalai coming close, although Marco Reus's effort saved by Timo Hildebrand was the closest either side came early on.

Just before the quarter-hour mark Aubameyang was found by Reus and he finished well from just inside the box to put his side in front.

He could have doubled the advantage but only managed to pick out Hildebrand from a Marcel Schmelzer cross.

The hosts had the perfect chance to draw level but Boateng missed a penalty on 30 minutes after a good save from Roman Weidenfeller, who ensured his side went in ahead.
