Bordeaux see off Marseille

Yoan Gouffran scores the only goal of the game as Bordeaux move up to second place in Ligue 1 with a 1-0 win over Marseille.

Bordeaux have moved up to second place in the Ligue 1 table thanks to a 1-0 victory over Marseille at the Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas.

The visitors rarely threatened, but they made the breakthrough seven minutes into the second half as Yoan Gouffran converted Benoit Tremoulinas's cross from close range.

Gouffran nearly added to his tally with 20 minutes left on the clock, only to lash his shot over the crossbar.

The visitors' night was made worse in the dying seconds when Lucas Mendes was shown a straight red card for taking out Ludovic Obraniak as the last man.

While Bordeaux occupy second spot in the table, Marseille have been pushed down into fourth.
