Report: Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Brereton close to Blackburn Rovers switch

Brereton on verge of Blackburn switch?

Blackburn Rovers have reportedly edged closer to signing Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton in an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move in January.

The 19-year-old is deemed one of the brightest young talents at the City Ground, having burst onto the scene last season with his standout display in the 4-2 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.

However, Brereton is yet to feature for Aitor Karanka's side in the current campaign, which has fuelled speculation regarding a switch away from the East Midlands club.

According to Sky Sports News, Rovers have been chasing the promising teenager for a while and are believed to have agreed personal terms ahead of a deal which will cost the Ewood Park club £6m.

Brereton scored six goals in 39 appearances for Forest last season.
