Half-Time Report: Robert Lewandowski brace hands Bayern Munich advantage over SC Paderborn

Lewandowski brace puts Bayern in control

Robert Lewandowski's first-half brace has given Bayern Munich a 2-0 lead over SC Paderborn at the halfway stage of their Bundesliga meeting.

Paderborn made a promising start to match the champions early on, with Alban Meha threatening when he fired a yard wide from distance.

However, it was Bayern who dominated possession for much of the first half, and Paderborn were forced to curb their attacking instincts for long spells as the visitors piled on the pressure.

Paderborn were unable to keep the leaders out as Bayern took the lead in the 24th minute through Lewandowski, who timed his run perfectly to collect Arjen Robben's chipped pass and slot past Lukas Kruse.

The home side's task was made even tougher before the break when Lewandowski scored his second of the match with a volleyed finish from Franck Ribery's inviting cross.
