Bastia captain Yannick Cahuzac has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
The 27-year-old suffered an upper arm fracture during his side's surprise cup loss to third-tier CA Bastia last weekend.
Cahuzac now faces surgery and around five months of recuperation before he can return to the side, ruling him out of the rest of this season.
The defensive midfielder, who has spent his entire career at Bastia, has helped his side reach 13th place in the Ligue 1 table so far this season.
Bastia travel to Reims for their opening league game of 2013 on Sunday.
