Steele signs new Barnsley deal

Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele has signed a new two-year contract with the Championship outfit.

The 28-year-old, who joined the club in 2008, had been widely expected to seek pastures new at the end of the season.

However, the former Manchester United stopper has put an end to possible speculation by signing a new deal until 2015 at Oakwell.

A number of Championship clubs were believed to be interested in his signature.
