Barcelona president Sandro Rosell claims that Andres Iniesta is close to signing a new contract with the Spanish champions.

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has claimed that Andres Iniesta is close to signing a new contract with the Spanish champions.

The World Cup-winning midfielder, who made his first-team debut in 2002, has made 461 appearances for the Catalan outfit.

"Iniesta's renewal won't be a problem. The wish of both parties is to renew the contract," Rosell told reporters at a press conference.

Iniesta has also scored 11 times in 90 games for Spain.
