Robinho urges Neymar to join Barcelona over Real Madrid when he leaves Santos.

Robinho has advised his compatriot Neymar to join Barcelona over Real Madrid when he leaves Santos.

The Brazilian starlet has recently shunned interest from Spain, as well as Chelsea, in order to sign a new deal at Santos that runs until 2014.

Robinho made the move from Santos to Madrid back in 2005, spending three years in the capital before a big money move to Manchester City. However, he believes that the same move would be a mistake for Neymar, urging him to join Barcelona instead.

"He should go to Barcelona, without doubt, because his style of play would suit them much more," Robinho is quoted as saying by Sport.

"There is no vanity among the Barca players. In Madrid when a player is in front of goal it is much harder to be given the ball. At Barcelona it is not.

"He would be appreciated much more there."

Robinho is currently plying his trade for AC Milan.
