Atletico Mineiro confirm bid for Bernard

Atletico Mineiro have confirmed that they have received an offer from an English club for winger Bernard.

The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal over the past week, while Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also reportedly keen on the Brazilian.

Eduardo Maluf, Atletico's sporting director, insists that they have a bid on the table from a Premier League outfit.

"We have an offer from an English club, of €16m (£13.8m)," Maluf told Portuguese daily O Jogo. "However, our president will only sell for €25m (£21.5m)."

Bernard has also been the subject of interest from Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk.
